Kevin Mannix receives OWVA Citizenship Award.

The Board of directors for the Oregon War Veterans Association (OWVA) agreed that Kevin Mannix deserved their highest civilian award.  The Citizenship Award is given to individuals and organizations who demonstrate an "above the call of duty" support for veterans, members of Oregon's military and their families.

"Kevin Mannix has helped OWVA raise more than $90,000.00 since 2002, in support of our humanitarian projects," said Troy MacDermid, OWVA's treasurer and board member, in a report to the directors.  "Presenting him with this award is the least we can do to show him our gratitude- and relay the appreciation we hear from our members and program beneficiaries," MacDermid continued.

Executive Director, Greg Warnock will present the award to Mannix in May, and will include Mannix as a 2008 awardee at OWVA's Veteran's Ball in October 2008.

Mannix joins Congresswoman Darlene Hooley, State Representatives Karen Minnis, Jeff Barker and Donna Nelson, Salem Mayor Janet Taylor and Photographer Q Mapd as recipients of the OWVA Citizenship Award.
